Carnatic Musicians Anahita and Apoorva
Siblings with immense talent and potential, the sisters have been making a name for themselves for several years now both in the Carnatic Music concerts and the contests scene.
 
Their music is a product of very good training under their paternal grandmother, Smt.  Shanthi Jayaraman and presently under the tutelage of globally acclaimed musician-composer-director Chitravina Shri N Ravikiran.
 
Anahita Ravindran gave her maiden concert at the age of 9 in Raga Sudha Hall, Chennai. She has won several First prizes as also Tanpura Prizes and was adjudged Miss Voice by Carnatica which was judged by many eminent musical personalities. Naad Bhed, a classical music show conducted by SPIC MACAY and Doordarshan, saw her bag a place among the top 3 in the country in Carnatic Music. She was the 'Best On stage Performer' in Jaya TV’s Carnatic Music Idol, a finalist in RAJ TV’s Ragam Sangeetam, and has given several programs in various TV and FM Channels.
She was awarded the ‘Best Performer’ by Krishna Gana Sabha for 2 consecutive years. She is among the first winners of the  Excellence Award for Young Artistes from the Arts Culture India Foundation, and is also a recipient of the first prize in Padam singing conducted by The Music Academy. Having won the first prize in All India Radio, she has been graded as a B High Grade artist. She has also been the lead Vocalist for Dr. Vyjayantimala Bali’s Dance programs. Apoorva Ravindran gave her maiden concert when she was only 8. Also being awarded the first place in All India Radio and graded as a B grade artiste, she has won Tanpura prize from Mylapore Fine Arts and Super Singer award on Dikshitar Krithis conducted by Muttuswamy Dikshitar Trust. She participated in Tanishq Swarna Sangeetham by Raj TV and was adjudged the runner up after rigorous rounds of selection on various parameters. (Complete list of awards won by Apoorva)

Both of them are recipients of  Govt of India scholarship for Carnatic music. While Anahita is also proficient in Playing Chitravina, Apoorva is a Violinist. Together, they have been the winners of the 'Spirit of Youth' Award from the Music Academy, Madras and the 'Best Performers' Awards from several other prestigious Sabhas.  They have been on concert tours to the US, Australia, Middle East and have participated in the Cleveland Aradhana and IFAASD Festival, San Diego where they have been the lead singers in many operatic Dance dramas. They have also been granted the MS Subbulakshmi Fellowship from Shri Shanmukhananda Sangeeta Sabha, Mumbai for 3 years. They have released an Audio CD ‘Nalaya Nakshatrangal’ and their CD, “Divine Equations”  was premiered at the the Chicago World Festival. They are featured faculty members of the International Foundation  for Carnatic music. Aside, they are involved in the production of Audio and Video CDs and publications by IFCM. Together and individually, they have been giving concerts in all the leading sabhas across India and the US as also performances in AIR, Doordarshan, Jaya TV, Raj TV, Sankara TV, TTD Channel and various other TV and FM channels.
